A window into my family

Tour de Midwest

Sara and I are planning our vacation. We're planning on going to 1) Brendan's graduation in Moberly, MO. Then 2) we're heading up to Kirksville to see some friends we knew from Campus Christian Fellowship. Then we're heading to 3) Kearney, NE, to see Brandon and Keri. Finally we're stopping in 4) Omaha, NE to spend a couple of days going to the zoo and stuff. Here's the thing that's kind of funny. We're trying to decide on what hotel to stay at in Omaha. One of us is leaning toward a place with free wireless internet in every room and the other wants to stay in a hotel that looks like a castle from the outside. I won't say which of us is pulling for which, because I want you to be impartial. Help us out by posting a comment giving your opinion. It probably won't affect our decision, but it could be a fun discussion. Also, feel free to speculate about which of us wants which accomadations.

We are talking about Omaha, do you really think the internet is going to be faster than 28.8 anyway… I doubt it.
I did see the route takes you through scenic maryville mo.
Look me up.

You should check out the Settle Inn (www.settleinn.com). They offer free or reduced rates for ministers. It also looks like a castle if that makes a difference - complete with the knight in shining armour. :) Can’t wait to see you guys in a few weeks!!

Danny…

If the castle one is Settle Inn, you NEED to stay there. Let me tell you why:

Ministers can stay free. And if the free room isn’t available, you get a minister’s discount. I think it’s $45-$55 a night.

I can give you the details if you want.

We learned 2 things that helped us decide.

1. Drury Inn, which has free wireless broadband in every room, doesn’t have any locations in Omaha. There are a couple of hotels in town that do, but they’re too expensive for the likes of us.

2. Settle Inn (the one that looks like a castle) offers discounts to ministers.

what kind of minister do you need to be? can i do one of those on-line ordination things and then get a discount?

They said to bring a business card, so apparently all you need is some card stock and a computer.

see if they have a military discount.. and if they don’t, well.. i’ll be darned.

last year country kitchen told us they stopped the military discount because they said “the was over"… hmph. and that was approximately a year ago today.
