Starcraft

Starcraft

Mike and I just finished a few games of Starcraft. I installed Win98 on one of the old computers I have so we could play some games. I installed Gunbound, but the graphics card (4 MB) in this thing is too puny. Starcraft works fine on the computer and on my network. It is such a great game. Even though it's been around for a while, I think it's still one of my favorite strategy games. When we first got Ethernet in the dorms at Truman we used to play this game until my eyes hurt.

This is one game that I passed over. I got started on Age of Empires and never crossed over.

I’ve played a little bit of AoE 1. I even had a demo for the pocket pc version (but I’m not paying $30 to get the full version). AoE seems a little more complicated and historical, with better single player campaigns. Starcraft has a fairly simple tech tree and I think it’s at it’s best in fast-paced multiplayer games. If I had more money and more time I would play all the AoE games, plus Civilization, Command and Conquer and SimCity 1-4000. If I had unlimited time, money and computer hardware, I would get Warcraft 3.

I played StarCraft for HOURS on end while I was pregnant and couldn’t get a job… :D And while my husband was gone at school during the week…
