Pleonast RSS

My brother has a weblog at a site that doesn't provide an RSS feed for its blogs. I like reading what he says, but I can't be bothered to go look at the site periodically to check for new posts. That's so twentieth century. So, I wrote a screen scraping script that generates an rss feed for me. Subscribe to this feed and get Mike's posts without leaving your feed reader. You can change the url and get other users, too: Angie.

Regarding feed readers, I'm still using Bloglines and I'm very happy with it. A lot of people are switching to Google Reader and it is very nice, too. I've tried it, but I miss the way Bloglines lets me reorder my folders and feeds however I want.

Actually, Pleonast DOES provide RSS feeds, but only for subscribers :)

Although I'm currently working on the next version of Pleonast, and I might move some of the features around.

Have you ever seen TMBG live? I've seen them four or five times, and they never disappoint. Highlight was when they played the entire "fingertips" suite from Apollo 18 ... it was outstanding!

Kennon,
I saw that you had rss for paid members, but that doesn't do much good since Mike isn't one. To me, rss seems like an essential part of a blog and shouldn't be a premium feature. I know it's much more fun to roll your own, but take a look at b2evolution.net, it's the open source software that runs this blog. I help out by designing plugins and skins. I don't know if it would work for your needs, but it may give you some ideas. I know that people are using it for similar sites.

I've seen TMBG twice live. The first time was the Severe Tire Damage tour, then The Spine tour. Now my 5-year-old loves them, too.
