anti-telemarketing EGBG counterscript - I haven't had to deal with this in a while since Missouri got a no-call list, but if you want to have some fun with a telemarketer, use this script and give them a taste of their own medicine.

I know this may sound bias, being that I have been employed by the “telemarketing industry” for over 3 years now, but honestly people, get a life. There is no such thing as giving a telemarketer a “taste of their own medicine"! It’s a job. Some telemarketing business pay quite well too! (and do you really think that more than half of the people that work in these offices want to be calling some of the rudest, sarcastic, and most cliche minded people in America? “haha! why don’t you give me your number so that I can call you at home during dinner” we’ve all seen seinfeld people…) Just give it up. All these people want to do is make $$ just like the rest of America. Let them be and if your really not interested, HANG UP!!!!

I do understand that telemarketers are doing their job, but if you get to the point where you have to even raise this excuse in front of people who hate the fact that your profession even exists (but not you as a person), well… maybe you should find a different job. And I mean that in the nicest way possible.

The problem with telemarketing is that you’re calling people who don’t want whatever it is you’re selling, and definitely don’t want to be bothered with it at home. If you could find a way to sell a product to people who have actually approached YOU about buying it (such as at a store, or even receiving phone orders for a catalog) that would be infinitely better.
