I love movies. It’s a passion I’ve had ever since I was a child growing up in the Bronx. My mom and I used to watch the “Million Dollar Movie” series on WORTV (channel 9) together all the time. The Bible (both the Old and New Testaments) is a story told very much like a movie script. Everything in it was truly said and done, and God inspired all of it to be written exactly as is—perhaps even the extra verses that were added later on by scribes. But many of the things that were said and done were from man’s perspective and not necessarily true or correct, including the added Bible verses.

Therefore, it is incumbent upon us to get to know our God through the reading of His Logos (the Bible) AND the revealing nature of God’s Rhema - the present, real-time speaking of God into our lives. While the Word of God is enough to save us—and it does—in order to truly get to know our God and, more importantly, His heart, and more importantly, His heart towards us, we need both the Logos and the Rhema of God. With our eyes and ears, we can read or hear the logos. But it is only by the enlightenment of His Holy Spirit through our relationship with God, which His Son Jesus, through His sacrifice, death, and resurrection, enabled us to do, can we truly get to know His heart. Once we know our Father and His heart, we know the author of the Bible as well. Once we know the author, we can discern, through the power of His Holy Spirit, the truth within the pages we read. The Spirit will even quicken us to the truths or lies of the added verses, as well as the incorrect statements and conclusions of the flawed individual writers of God’s Bible.

Does this sound too much like a mystery? Do you wonder why a perfect God would allow His Bible to be filled with holes, apparent contradictions, and questionable statements by His chosen writers and scribes? That’s good. I’ve battled with that as well. The reason is that God doesn’t just want us to gather all our information from a book as if we were reading a biography or autobiography of some dead historical figure. Our God is alive, and He wants to be in relationship with us. He created us for just that purpose. He gave us His Word (the Bible) to point us towards Him and inspire us to get to know Him personally and hear from Him in real time. This way He can guide us through our lives, revealing who He created us to be, so that we can live the abundant, purposeful lives He intended for us.

In Christianity we have both subjective and objective evidence for the existence of God but I think people should be seekers and locate their own like Hugh Ross did if they truly have a scientific perspective that they look at the world from. Not everyone has that perspective but you can borrow that evidence demand as an excuse for wasting time so you don’t actually seek God.

Hugh Ross actually did his own evidence comparison and satisfied his own criteria that God exists but then he did it as a young science prodigy and maybe he was less self deceptive than most.

Why seek evidence if the internal scales have already been set to devalue it.

Besides God already gave the evidence and says He did in Romans 1.

In the English Standard Version in Romans 7 in the chapter entitled Released from the Law it says:

4 Likewise, my brothers, you also have died to the law through the body of Christ, so that you may belong to another, to him who has been raised from the dead, in order that we may bear fruit for God. 5 For while we were living in the flesh, our sinful passions, aroused by the law, were at work in our members to bear fruit for death. 6 But now we are released from the law, having died to that which held us captive, so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit and not in the old way of the written code.

The above doesn’t mean that gays don’t have to change. They have to be born again like everyone else. Cf. John 3.

The failure of a group of Christians to interpret God’s Word and follow Christ’s command to love their neighbor doesn’t negate the truth.

We’re all sinners and all have fallen short of the glory of God.

Your first human right is your right to be born again that Christ died on the Cross to purchase for every man, woman and child ever born.

Funny how the world likes to overlook this great spiritual right to put ahead lesser human rights.

But God’s priorities are greater than people’s.

What is an “infant?” Get the answer in your mind and keep it there for a moment. Do you have it? Okay, please consider Job 3:16: “Or as an hidden untimely birth I had not been; as infants which never saw light.” Did you see that? Job referred to unborn children as INFANTS. Not fetuses! Not masses of tissue! INFANTS! In God’s eyes, an unborn child is a living human baby. God never says once that an unborn child is anything less than a human being.

People used to know to protect innocent people from harm but these days people lack natural affection as the Bible calls it.

When did a woman’s right to her own body preempt God’s right to every person ever conceived. God owns everyone by right of creation.

Perhaps the abortion rate is increasing because no one is reading their bible and getting born again. Once you’re born again God uses the bible to build a right spirit in people and that spirit manifest the fruit of the spirit of which one of those fruits is the spirit of self control.
If more people were born again and raised God’s way then maybe they would have the self control to avoid getting pregnant.

Why does everyone assume reacting and making concessions to human weakness is the only option?

Follow Jesus and let God make a whole new person out of you. Get born again and let Him train you up according to His ways and don’t judge this by other people’s results. Submit to His way and never give up until He produces results in you.

By the way, yes I am exhorting you to more effort…if you’ve fallen can’t you get back up again….so no need to argue with me. I hope you see my point. Enlightenment is sought. Like any truly good relationship is. You don’t argue people into enlightenment.
