That article, aside from leaving out the most obvious example of the homecoming in culture, Homer’s Odyssey, doesn’t consider the question of whether we have any right to be in Iraq at all.

What alternative do you suggest? Leave them over there? If things were getting better I might be open to that idea, but the situation is getting steadily worse. It’s not the military’s fault. The civilian leadership never planned for this situation.
