You do know that the word homosexual is not in the original text, right?

arsenokoites: one who lies with a male as with a female, sodomite, homosexual

You do know that the Iraqi people are more poor and more sick now than before the invasion, right?

Six new primary care facilities, with 66 more under construction; 11 hospitals renovated; more than 800 schools fixed up; more than 300 police stations and facilities and 248 border control forts.

-Added 407,000 cubic meters per day of water treatment; a new sewage-treatment system for Basra; work on Baghdad’s three plants continues; oil production exceeds the 2002 level of 2 million barrels a day by 500,000.

-The Ministry of Electricity now sends power to Baghdad for four to eight hours a day, and 10 to 12 for the rest of the country. Iraqis are now free to buy consumer items such as generators, which provide some homes with power around-the-clock.”

http://washtimes.com/functions/print.php?StoryID=20061120-123520-8853

You do know that there are more terrorists now than there were before the invasion, right? And more terrorist attacks.

So if we bury our head in the sand, capitulate to extrem Islamism, the world will be a happy place. You do realize that the mere existence of America (aka the “Great Satan") is fuel enough for them to spontaneously explode or fly planes into buildings? Don’t you?
Mark Steyn’s America Alone

Right…because Israel is blowing anyone up or killing anyone. It is nice to have double standards though.

Remember Adnann Hajj, the fake news reporting in which he exaggerated photos of Israeli bombs, the “Green Helmet Guy” who has to take care of dead people that really aren’t dead, but are staged so that the MSM can demonstrate their “fake but accurate” reporting?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adnan_Hajj_photographs_controversy

Christian” who actually cares about the poor and the oppressed instead of killing the poor and oppressed.

But if you support liberation of the poor and oppressed, well, you just want to kill all Muslims, and…you are just a Zionist lackey. [note sarcasm]

And maybe we could actually take a look at the whole Bible instead of a few proof texts.

Like Leviticus 18:22, Romans 1:26-27?

I’m just saying that the kingdom of God shouldn’t rely on any kingdom of the world to do it’s work.

Matt…I agree with this to an extent. I think that we should not rely on an earthly kingdom to “God-work.” But that does not mean that we cannot use an earthly kingdom to help.

But it goes a little further than that. There are certain things that I cannot do (nor can the larger church body do) without the “earthly kingdom.” Things like ending capital punishment, preventing war, etc.

I believe strongly that the Bible speaks into these things, and in turn I need to act (vote, become “political,” etc) accordingly.

Dan,

That’s what I get for waiting to post my crackpot comments, someone gets in line ahead of me.

I would just say that I think mixing faith and politics is a mistake. That’s not the libertarian in me talking. It’s the Christian. Political power comes out of the end of a gun. The power of the kingdom of God is not power-over power, it’s power-under, servant power. I’ve been listening to some cool sermons on this (by the guy that was in the NYTimes article a while back).

I’m not saying one’s faith doesn’t determine who you vote for, of course it should. I’m just saying that the kingdom of God shouldn’t rely on any kingdom of the world to do it’s work. In glancing back at your post, you’re probably not even saying that.

The answer to your questions.
Homosexuality has no inalienable rights as a choice of preference not ordination.
1 Corinthians 6:9 Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders 10. nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. (Rights are for Man and Woman in marriage) 1 Corinthians 11:11 In the Lord, however, woman is not independent of man, nor is man independent of woman. 12. For as woman came from man, so also man is born of woman.

The Iraqi people are poor and sick and oppressed and deserve freedom as well as trying to bring peace to a part of the world that supports Hezzbolah and Al Queda and where Israeli’s are blown up on a daily basis by Palestinians.

Bush doesn’t disagree. God disagrees with Islam and Terror.

Exodus 20:1 And God spoke all these words:
2 “I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.
3 “You shall have no other gods before [a] me.
4 “You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. 5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, 6 but showing love to a thousand {generations} of those who love me and keep my commandments.
